Tv and radio presenter Robert Matano popularly known to fans as MC Tash has hinted to his fans and followers that more hits are cooking and from next month he will be releasing a new song.
Tash a radio and Tv presenter in Weru Station who hails from Thagichu in Kitui county has been trending with his new release hit song by the name ‘Kathambi’. In this song, Tash is telling the lover of his life to endure every challenge they face if it is really love, bearing in mind that his Tharaka home place may not best suit her.
NewsFlash 254 was privileged to have an exclusive interview with the new artist in town and sougt to know why the media personel has opted to indulge in music industry.
Being a Tv and a radio presenter, MC Tash says he has noticed a gap of audience who never listens to radio or watch tv. This category according to him requires a cool time when they are alone with their gadgets through platforms such as you tube and thus he opted to cater for them.
Tash says unlike in larger Meru where atleast artists have shown promising efforts towards the modern music, Tharaka region has clinged to traditional Music which can only be played locally limiting them to soar higher levels.
“Tharaka being a community which loves culture, you find only a few artists who have endeavoured to venture in the modern music while the rest still hold on to the traditional music. So that I have decided to come up with modernised music like in the case of ‘Kathambi’ which is in form of Dance hall Rhumba,” says Tash.
The improved and modernised music therefore according to the artist meets threshold to be played internationally and not only played locally unlike traditional music.
He says he is working on another hit in reggae style that will be dropping from probably next month.
