Marimanti ward member of county assembly Hon.Susan Ngugi has come out to clear the air over the recently unveiled BBI report proposing to scrap off the position of county woman representative,a post that she has been eyeing come the next 2022 polls
speaking during the burial ceremony of Muthoni Rukungi in Njukiini Tharaka,Susan said if the the BBI come to pass by any means, she will opt for the position of the county woman senator,a new post that has been introduced in the BBI.
She said the seat is similar to that of woman rep since both are dealing with affirmative action funds in bid to ensure women are empowered.
On her reservations on the BBI document, the Marimanti ward legislator said it contains good recommendations to help the common man but it has some sections that requires streamlining for inclusivity of every one.
“proposals like introduction of ward development funds, seven years tax holiday for youths owned investments and increased resources to counties are good, but let us also have a dialogue so that those contentious sections in the documents can be streamlined and every one feel included,” said Susan.
She urged Tharaka Nithi constituents to read and understand the document before making their decisions of either supporting of opposing the document.
