The office of MCA for Mukothima ward Hon. Mwenda Gataya alias More fire is once again on the spot after a lady secretary attached to his office decided to deconstruct members of the press in a vulgar language full of insults.
Ms. Faith Muthoni was speaking in a meeting where the county woman rep Hon. Beatrice Nkatha had visited Mukome fleet sacco in Mukothima to hand them over a cheque of Sh 232,000 as a way of empowerment through NGAAF funds.
Earlier the media had highlighted the hardships that the Mukome Sacco has been going through now for 7 years of the MCA’s tenure without his support. The Sacco has been operating without a terminus or parking for their vehicles despite remitting taxes to the county government.
The vehicles from the Sacco thus have been parking in front traders’ shops which even risks their lifes. The bodaboda operators on the other hand have no shed for sheltering during the sunny and rainy days making their operation hard.
The media had also highlighted the extorting fare of Sh 300 being charged from Mukothima to Meru town despite the route now having been tarmacked making cruising easier. Thus they were requesting the MCA to chip in and help sort out the issue.
But once the secretary who was representing the ward legislator took over the mic, she hurled insults to the press members present calling them names.”I expect you to be using your heads when highlighting such issues but not just speaking to be heard,” Ms. Faith told the press.
After the meeting, the secretary took the war to a whats app group platform where she continued addressing everyone crossing her way using the most vicious words one could imagine,a thing that seems to lower the decorum of the MCA’s office.
This is not the first time the office of the MCA is spotted conflicting the media. In the recent past, the MCA Hon. Mwenda Gataya threatened a local based radio repoter for digging out and reporting facts which probably rubbed him in the wrong way.
As the war of words continues, the constituents are left watching what they will have benefited from the 2 terms the MCA will have served before the term ends.
