A man hunt is underway by DCI sleuths from Laikipia County to apprehend a man who allegedly buried two boys without informing their families after unsuccessful circumcision conducted on them.
Police sources indicate that the suspect Sitienei Kibomet was acting as the caretaker to 25 boys who had undergone the right of passage on 15th of December by a clinical officer but later developed unidentified infection leading to the death of the two.
The suspect conspired with the father to one of the dead boys identified as George Kibet to bury the boy in a secret grave without bothering to inform other family members.
The issue came to light after Kibet’s concerned family members demanded to know the where about of the boy following their suspicion that something was not adding up.
This led to the suspect fleeing to unknown hide outs after learning that authorities were after him, leaving the father to the boy behind who has since been arrested and now in police custody aiding investigations.
Reports further says that following contraction of the unidentified infection by the initiates, two other boys are currently admitted at Unison Medical Centre, Rumuruti in Laikipia County.
Amid efforts to locate the secret grave where the initiate was buried, police have urged members of public who may aid in locating the hide outs of the suspect to give the information to security officers.
