Gitari mbiuki has asked embattled governor Njuki to do an honourable thing and resign to pave way for investigators to perform their work without interference.
Mbiuki says as a patriot Njuki, should write a resignation letter to the speaker seeking to step aside untill his case which he is facing graft charges is heard and determined.
He says Tharaka Nithi county MCAs should utilise this chance to use their power and impeach the governor since it is the only legit way of getting him out of office.”I urge the MCAs to act as the constitution stipulates in county government act section 33 and have the governor ejected from the office,” Mbiuki said.
The politician who has also decrared interest in Gubernatorial seat further urged other politicians from the county to restrain from inciting constituents using the case but instead give court and EACC humble time to do their work.
He condemned the move by the deputy governor Eng. Francis Nyamu kagwima to declare himself as the currrent centre of power a thing that is unconstitutional.”It is was not within the law for the deputy governer to take over from his boss as the rulling only barred the governor from accesing his office which means he is still the governor,” he says.
The deputy governor has recently taken over the county operation as his boss battles wit graft case in court which has seen him barred from accessing his Kathwana office untill the case is heard and determined.
