The problem ailing Tharaka is threefold and revolves around deceit by the leaders we elect. Once we elect leaders people’s empowerment which is a big component of societal security vanish from their list of priorities. Instead Small and trivial cosmetic gestures preoccupy their development agenda that can only pass the test of being referred to as Public hoodwinking gimmicks.
I believe one can do a great deal to the society if elected if one can major in an ambitious program to pitch for opportunities for youths in terms of jobs and other linkages for those who didn’t make it to complete their education.
Have you asked yourself why you can’t find a Tharaka entrepreneur being awarded big contracts by the national Government? People of caliber of Sonko Matanka can execute any contract but because those contracts are politically transmitted our politicians are extremely jealous to hold their fellow brother a hand. This is called the Tharaka tragedy of gigantic proportions.
It’s hard to see a Tharaka teacher promoted to head an education directorate in Nairobi yet 90% of civil servants in Tharaka are teachers. Same Case to Police service our people stagnate and retire as Juniors while their less deserving counterparts keep rising courtesy of their political class networking and good Will to empower their subjects. Such issues are equally very important in the same league as infrastructural development. Our leaders can’t because it’s a bother to them.
Five years have gone with fake Dengu promise that they will be included in the strategic grain reserve. What will they tell farmers? They say things in the villages to please their grannies yet they don’t have the intention to follow through their village outbursts. Professional liars.
Do you know lower Tharaka North, part’s of Marimanti and Chiakariga getting water to drink alone is a mirage? Soda cost cheaper than the hustles of getting water 60 years after independence.
See how boundary issue is being casually handled. Boundary issue can only be canvassed through the Government offices with records of series of documents that advance your cause like maps and others investigative reports like Ogongo commission and not through phone calls to the offices.
