Kibung’a bodaboda operators have faulted governor Njuki for deliberately ignoring them during g his visit of Turima where he was issuing out cheque to 24 groups as a way of empowering them.
The well organized group of young people revealed that despite owning tents and chairs to lease out in case of events, they were surprised to see tents drawn all the way from Chogoria being sneaked in at wee hours of the night leaving them hopeless.
“As a group we have our own tents and chairs which we lease out in events and we expected as the hosts of the governor’s events to supply the same. But to our surprise, we learnt that tents drawn from Chogoria were sneaked in late at night and erected at the venue totally ignoring us,’’ said a member of the group.
This source also learnt that the organizers of the event were forced t source sound system from within after another system from unknown place which was to be used failed at the last minute.
Aggrieved by turn of events, the youths said the event revealed how the county boss was disrespectful and less considerate to the youths groups despite investing heavily into various projects in bid to empower themselves to higher levels.
The used the chance to deconstruct him for issuing handouts to hundreds of locals who showed up during the event and said he would have instead used the cash to put up a shade for bodaboda operators that has been a challenge for years now.
“It is almost 3 years since the governor promised us a good bodaboda shade but surprisingly the actualization has never happened. Our efforts to reach our MP has always failed since he tells us that the governor took over the project and thus he can’t of help to us,’’ said another Member of the group.
Thus they requested Njuki to make haste and have the shade put up before time lapses and use the project to make his score card in the area.
